WHAT TO WEAR
We encourage everyone dresses for the occasion.
The good news is that you don't have to spend a fortune to join in with the fun.
The 40's, 50's and 60's were all key periods for fashion, much of which wouldn't look out of place on the high street today.
The 1940's look was very tailored and smart. Ladies generally would wear a dress with fascinator hats, fur shawls and little gloves. The dresses in this era are very much like you would see within an office today.
For 50's dress we recommend a dress with a swing skirt, or a top and swing skirt. In the 50's, bigger was better, so the bigger your skirt the more authentic it will look. These looks really look complete with red lipstick and stockings.
The swinging 60's was a revolution for fashion and was a decade which really broke traditions. This decade included the creation of the mini skirt, it was the period where women really stood up for what they believed in and it showed through their choice of clothes. Clothes were used as a means of expression.
And for the Chaps its easy, you have an array of choices from a Country Gentleman, Slick City Man, MP, Armed forces Officer, Race Car Mechanic / Driver, Teddy Boy, Greaser or Rocker, Hippy and so on
For the Kids its easy too, dresses for the girls and shorts for the boys, Evacuee, School Uniform, Mechanic Overalls, 60s Child, the kids will love it
So let your imagination go wild and lets bring some glitz and glamor to the village

ABOUT THE LANCASTER
The Avro Lancaster is the most famous and successful RAF heavy bomber of World War Two. It is a legend that lives on today and the contribution made by the aircraft and its crews to the freedom of our nation will, hopefully, never be forgotten. The prototype Lancaster took to the air for its first flight from Ringway, Manchester, on 9 January 1941; the first production Lancaster flew later that year on 31 October.
LANCASTER PA474
PA474 is one of only two Lancaster aircraft remaining in airworthy condition out of the 7,377 that were built (the other is in Canada with the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum at Hamilton, Ontario). PA474 rolled off the production line at the Vickers Armstrong Broughton factory at Hawarden Airfield, Chester on 31 May 1945, just after the war in Europe came to an end, so she was prepared for use against the Japanese as part of the 'Tiger Force'. However, the war in the Far East also ended before she was deployed and she did not take part in any hostilities. PA474 completed a 'major' servicing at Duxford across the winter of 2016-17.
Time TBA - Saturday 13th July Only
